Ginger Turmeric Immune Booster

I started making a turmeric, honey, ginger and warm milk drink before bed to help with my headaches because I had read how turmeric has very high anti-inflammatory properties. After a few weeks, I stopped making the drink because I got lazy and didn't feel like heating up the ingredients and washing another pot before bed. Then I spotted this recipe on our friends at Waipuilani.Brand Instagram page. It combines honey, turmeric, lemon, ginger and hot water. You can make a jar of it all at once and just heat up some hot water and stir in a couple spoonfuls.

This recipe is great when you are feeling under the weather, but don't feel like you have to wait until then to make yourself a cup. I've been making myself a cup of this tea in the mornings before work.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 2-4 tbsp grated ginger
  • 2 tsp grated turmeric
  • 1 lemon juiced
  • 2 pinches black pepper

Directions:

  1. Combine all ingredients
  2. Add a few teaspoons to hot water (make sure it is not boiling)
  3. Stir and enjoy.
  4. Store the rest of mixture in a jar and refrigerate.
